Action Plan for Jobs: Dublin contains a suite of actions developed by local authorities, regional bodies, higher education institutions, the private sector and communities in Dublin aimed at boosting job creation across the county. It capitalises on Dublin’s strengths and assets to support businesses to start-up, succeed, expand, and export.
The Plan is being monitored by an Implementation Committee, comprising regional representatives from across the public and private sectors, including ‘Enterprise Champions’—local business representatives who are working to drive the enterprise and jobs focus of the Plan. Progress reports are produced every 6 months for the duration of the plan.
Key sectors targeted as part of the Plan include areas like technology, financial services, life sciences, manufacturing, tourism and retail as well as “smart cities” and the creative industries. It will also help ensure that we remain to the forefront as these sectors evolve and as new business models come into being, such as fintech, big data, and software as a service. Successful implementation of the Dublin Action Plan aims to see the creation of 66,000 extra jobs.
