Action Plan for Jobs: Mid East contains a suite of actions developed by local authorities, regional bodies, higher education institutions, the private sector and communities in the Mid East aimed at boosting job creation in the region. It capitalises on regional strengths and assets to support businesses in the region to start-up, succeed, expand, and export.
The Plan is being monitored by an Implementation Committee, comprising regional representatives from across the public and private sectors, including ‘Enterprise Champions’—local business representatives who are working to drive the enterprise and jobs focus of the Plan.
The Mid East Plan covers counties Meath, Kildare and Wicklow. Key sectors targeted include high tech-manufacturing, agri-food, tourism, renewable energy, the equine industry and the film/creative content industry. Successful implementation of the Plan aims to achieve the creation of 25,000 extra jobs in the region.
