Action Plan for Jobs: Mid West contains a suite of actions developed by local authorities, regional bodies, higher education institutions, the private sector and communities in the Mid West aimed at boosting job creation in the region. It capitalises on regional strengths and assets to support businesses in the region to start-up, succeed, expand, and export.
The Plan is being monitored by an Implementation Committee, comprising regional representatives from across the public and private sectors, including ‘Enterprise Champions’—local business representatives who are working to drive the enterprise and jobs focus of the Plan.
Successful implementation of this Plan for Clare, Limerick and Tipperary is targeted at the creation of 23,000 extra jobs in the region. The Plan aims to achieve this through building on key sectors of potential for the region like Aviation, Lifesciences, Engineering, Internationally Traded Services and Tourism.
