The North East and North West Regional Action Plan for Jobs Implementation Committees

While the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation oversees the Regional Action Plans for Jobs at national level each Regional Action Plan is monitored by Regional Implementation Committees at regional level. Action Plan for Jobs: North East/North West is monitored by two committees: one in the North East and another in the North West.

Enterprise Champions

Many of the actions set out in the Regional APJs are delivered by public sector bodies acting collaboratively. Some of the actions require active engagement with the private sector so strong business representation is required.

To this end, the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation has appointed locally based enterprise champions to each Regional Implementation Committee to work with the public bodies on the implementation of the Plans, including the identification of new actions to be added to the Plans as they evolve.

Richard Hanlon, Senior Vice President of Vesta, Co. Louth chairs the committee in the North East. The other Enterprise Champions in the North East are Michael Hanley, CEO of Lakeland Dairies, Co. Cavan and Martin McVicar, Managing Director of Combilift, Co. Monaghan.

Conor Murphy, Site Director at Abbott Diagnostics Division, Co. Sligo chairs the committee in the North West. The other Enterprise Champions in the North West  are Philip Martin, CEO of Cora Systems in Co. Leitrim and Brian Leslie, Director of Seaquest, Co. Donegal.
