Action Plan for Jobs: South East contains a suite of actions developed by local authorities, regional bodies, higher education institutions, the private sector and communities in the South East aimed at boosting job creation in the region. It capitalises on regional strengths and assets to support businesses in the region to start-up, succeed, expand, and export.
The Plan is being monitored by an Implementation Committee, comprising regional representatives from across the public and private sectors, including ‘Enterprise Champions’—local business representatives who are working to drive the enterprise and jobs focus of the Plan.
The South East Plan covers counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford. Key sectors targeted as part of the plan include agri-food, tourism, life sciences, manufacturing, retail and financial services/business services. Successful implementation of Plan is targeted at the creation of 25,000 extra jobs in the region.
