With the unemployment rate now at 6.4% compared to 8.4% in May, 2016 and Ireland now ranked 6th most competitive economy out of 63 countries in the IMD Global Competitiveness Yearbook we are definitely heading in the right direction. Every job created has a real effect on men, women, and children and the wider community. It gives people self-respect, dignity and enables them to support their family and have a better quality of life. That is why we cannot be complacent about job creation.
